Environment and Climate Change
Amel Association International recognizes the environment as a core pillar of human rights, social equity, and sustainable development. Since 2022, Amel has integrated environmental sustainability into its programs, operations, and institutional vision.
Climate Action Rooted in Human Rights
Climate change, environmental degradation, pollution, water stress, and damage to ecosystems directly affect health, livelihoods, dignity, and community resilience, especially among vulnerable groups and small farmers.
Needs
- Increasing environmental hazards, including fires, pollution, and damage to water sources.
- Climate-related threats to human rights, ecosystems, health, and livelihoods.
- Small farmers and vulnerable communities affected by drought, variable rainfall, soil degradation, and contamination.
- Need to mainstream environmental sustainability across humanitarian and development programs.
- Limited community knowledge on climate impacts, clean energy, soil protection, and water conservation.
- Need for stronger policies on environmental protection, adaptation finance, and resilient infrastructure.
Activities
Amel integrates environmental values and eco-friendly practices across its work, including clean water practices, renewable energy solutions, awareness campaigns, climate-sensitive livelihood programming, and policy advocacy.
