Supporting vulnerable communities through primary health care, vocational training and women’s economic empowerment in South Lebanon.
What We Do?
The Fardis Center was established in 2008 in collaboration with UNICEF and the Municipality of Fardis, under the supervision of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
Through the center, Amel Association International provides primary health care services, awareness sessions and vocational training programmes designed to strengthen community resilience and improve livelihoods.
The center particularly focuses on supporting women and vulnerable communities through economic empowerment and skills development initiatives.
Primary Health Care
The center provides accessible primary health care services and awareness activities for vulnerable Lebanese residents and refugee communities.
Health services contribute to strengthening prevention, well-being and access to essential care in underserved areas.
Vocational Training
Vocational training programmes support women and community members in developing practical skills that improve employability and economic independence.
Activities include business administration, accounting and marketing skills training.
Women Empowerment
Within the framework of a UN Women programme implemented in collaboration with the Municipality of Kfeir-Hasbaya, 110 Lebanese women and 78 Syrian refugees received specialized training.
The programme focused on entrepreneurship, accounting and marketing to strengthen women’s participation in local economic activities.
Production & Sustainability
Around 160 women were trained on international production standards related to food processing, handicrafts and recycling activities.
These initiatives contribute to sustainable livelihoods, local production and environmentally responsible practices.
Community Impact
Through integrated health, awareness and vocational programmes, the Fardis Center contributes to strengthening resilience and improving the livelihoods of vulnerable families in South Lebanon.
The center’s activities help create sustainable economic opportunities for women while supporting access to health care and community development initiatives.
