Providing primary health care, maternity services and specialized medical support for communities in Tyre District and neighboring villages.
What We Do?
Bazourieh, located in Tyre District in South Lebanon, has been a focus of Amel Association International’s work since the early 1980s, in response to population growth and limited public services in the South.
Amel’s center was established in 1981 during the civil war as a small clinic. Over time, it developed into a maternity center and health clinic serving residents of Bazourieh and neighboring villages along the Tyre, Tibnin and Bint Jbeil axis.
For more than 35 years, the center has continued to provide medical and social services rooted in dignity, accessibility and community solidarity.
Primary Health Care
The center provides essential primary health care services for residents of Bazourieh and surrounding villages.
It has been incorporated into the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health primary health care network.
Maternity & Community Health
Originally developed from a small clinic into a maternity center, the facility continues to support women, families and vulnerable communities through accessible health services.
Specialized Medical Equipment
The center was equipped with a dental clinic, mammography machine, panoramic device and sound system to improve the quality and range of medical services.
Accessibility & Rehabilitation
In 2015, the center was rehabilitated and upgraded, including the installation of a dedicated elevator for persons with disabilities and older people.
This rehabilitation was carried out in collaboration with the Office of Humanitarian Affairs and the Italian Battalion in UNIFIL.
