Supporting children and families through protection, psychosocial support and educational activities in Nabatieh.
What We Do?
The Kfar Joz, Nabatieh Center was dedicated to providing protection, psychosocial support and educational activities for more than 400 children in Nabatieh and surrounding communities.
The center created a safe and supportive environment where children could learn, recover and strengthen their emotional well-being through community-based activities.
Protection
The center implemented child protection activities aimed at supporting vulnerable children affected by conflict, displacement and social hardship.
Programmes focused on creating safer spaces, strengthening emotional well-being and supporting children’s resilience.
Education
Educational activities supported children through learning opportunities, psychosocial engagement and community-based educational assistance.
The center contributed to helping children continue learning within a safe and supportive environment.
Center Damaged by Israeli Bombardment
In 2024, Amel Association International announced that its educational center in Kfar Joz, Nabatieh, sustained severe damage due to Israeli bombardment, rendering the facility non-operational.
The attack represents a serious violation of international humanitarian and human rights law, including Article 53 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the destruction of civilian property during wartime, and Article 38 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which guarantees the protection of children during armed conflict.
The destruction of educational and protection spaces deprives vulnerable children of safe environments, psychosocial support and access to learning during times of crisis.
