At a time when hardships are intensifying and the gap in justice continues to widen in a world weighed down by wars and crises, the importance of human solidarity emerges as an act of resistance, one that goes beyond relief to safeguard dignity and uphold the human right to life. In this spirit, welcomed a delegation from , headed by Dr. Ouahid Abassi, accompanied by Program Director Mr. Amine N’Troufi Bakdouchi, on a field visit that included Amel’s Social Development Center in Ain El Remmaneh, and a school in Furn El Chebbak, that has been transformed into a collective shelter for displaced families.
This visit comes within the framework of a shared commitment to strengthening humanitarian action rooted in people’s realities and struggles. The delegation observed firsthand the conditions faced by displaced communities and the daily challenges they endure amid difficult living conditions and shortages in resources and basic services. They also received a detailed briefing from the Amel team on the organization’s ongoing field response, which continues despite immense challenges through its network of centers and mobile clinics reaching the most vulnerable populations.
During the visit, the Amel team presented the organization’s philosophy, which is based on the belief that dignity is an indivisible right, and on working with communities rather than on their behalf, through an approach aimed at empowering people and strengthening their resilience. The team emphasized that this vision is what has enabled Amel to persevere for decades in the face of wars and crises without compromising its principles.
In his remarks, the President of , Dr. Kamel Mohanna, stressed that “dignity is life itself, and it is the compass that guides every genuine humanitarian intervention.” He noted that partnerships with institutions that uphold these values, such as , reflect a deep convergence in vision and responsibility. He added that Amel is grounded in the firm conviction that humanitarian work cannot remain neutral in the face of injustice, but must stand with humanity and seek to transform reality rather than merely adapt to it.
Dr. Mohanna also highlighted the field achievements realized during the war, as Amel continued operating on the frontlines by providing healthcare services, psychosocial support, and emergency assistance to displaced people. He affirmed that these efforts are only one part of a broader commitment toward communities and called for a global popular movement to confront the collapse of humanitarian values within the international system. He stressed that the future of the world cannot be built on wars, but on justice and solidarity among peoples.
Dr. Zeina Mohanna also accompanied the delegation to Furn El Chebbak Public School, where she presented the suffering endured by displaced families and the programs implemented by Amel to support them.
For his part, the President of , Mr. Ouahid Abassi, expressed his deep appreciation for the role played by Amel, praising its humanitarian model that combines immediate response with long-term action. He emphasized that what distinguishes Amel is its ability to transcend divisions and narrow identities while working with an inclusive humanitarian spirit, making it a key partner in any effort aimed at creating real change in people’s lives.
He further underscored the importance of strengthening this cooperation, based on the shared belief that dignity is not merely a slogan, but a daily practice embodied through standing alongside people, defending their rights, and building sustainable pathways toward social justice.
This visit once again reaffirms that solidarity among free and committed institutions constitutes a fundamental pillar in confronting current challenges, and that humanitarian action, when grounded in values, becomes a genuine force for change, capable of restoring hope to communities and preserving human dignity in the face of all forms of marginalization and exclusion.
