Tyre Health & Development Center

Providing health care, psychosocial support and rehabilitation services for vulnerable Lebanese communities and displaced families in South Lebanon since 1980.

What We Do?

The center was established in 1980 during the Lebanese civil war and following the Israeli invasion in the late 1970s in order to provide urgent medical and social services in response to humanitarian crises.

After Lebanon entered a more stable period, the center continued operating and expanded its role in delivering both primary and specialized health care services for vulnerable communities.

Following the Syrian crisis, Amel Association International expanded the center’s activities to support Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities through integrated health, psychosocial and awareness programmes.

Health • Rehabilitation • Support Delivering integrated medical and psychosocial services rooted in dignity, solidarity and resilience.

Primary & Specialized Health Care

The center provides both primary and specialized medical consultations for vulnerable Lebanese residents and displaced families.

Health services are designed to improve access to dignified and affordable care for underserved communities in South Lebanon.

Physical Therapy

In collaboration with the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, Amel Association International provides physical therapy services for both Lebanese citizens and refugees.

Rehabilitation services contribute to improving mobility, recovery and quality of life for vulnerable patients.

Awareness & Prevention

The center regularly organizes awareness sessions promoting health education, prevention and psychosocial well-being.

Mammography tests and preventive health activities are also provided to strengthen early detection and community health awareness.

Mobile Medical Clinic

The center is supported by a mobile medical clinic providing health care, psychosocial support and medicine distribution for Syrian refugees and vulnerable populations.

Mobile outreach services help ensure access to care for communities facing transportation and economic barriers.

Integrated Community Support

Through health care, psychosocial support and rehabilitation programmes, the center contributes to strengthening resilience and improving well-being among vulnerable communities affected by conflict, displacement and socio-economic hardship.

The center continues to serve as an important community-based space for care, dignity and solidarity in South Lebanon.

“Access to health care and rehabilitation services restores dignity, strengthens resilience and supports communities facing prolonged crisis.”
