Amel’s vision is based on human rights philosophy where all human beings are equal, whatever their nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status matters.
“Universal human rights are often expressed and guaranteed by law, in the forms of treaties, customary international law, general principles and other sources of international law. International human rights law lays down obligations of Governments to act in certain ways or to refrain from certain acts, in order to promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals or groups.” *
According to human rights watch, our Arab region is witnessing dense and daily violations against human rights.

Thus, Amel established the Amel House for Human Rights (AHHR), which develops annual advanced educational programs in addition to systematic training on dealing with causes related to human rights and international humanitarian law in Lebanon and the Arab world in collaboration with La Sagesse University.

AHHR organizes a yearly Summer School focusing on “law of armed conflict” which gathers around 50 participants from the all over the world. Moreover, AHHR is regularly implementing Video Advocacy Action Training which are providing youths with technical skills to promote their rights. Other trainings including a Course on Palestinians rights are also regularly organized by AHHR.[/vc_column_text]

What are Human Rights ?
Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.
