In partnership with UNFPA and supported by the European Union (ECHO)

In recognition of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Amel Association International, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with the support of the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), organized a series of awareness activities across six community centers in Lebanon: Hay El Sellom, Tyre, Bazourieh, Nabatieh, Al-Ain, and Mashghara.

This year’s theme centered on digital gender-based violence, aiming to shed light on its various forms, risks, and consequences from legal, social, and psychological perspectives.

The activities featured:

  • 📚 Legal awareness sessions explaining the types of digital abuse and the mechanisms for reporting violations. These sessions were led by legal consultants in each center, and in some cases, coordinated with representatives of the Internal Security Forces during central events.

  • 🛡️ Protection-focused discussions with social workers addressing the social and psychological impact of digital violence and strengthening community awareness around prevention and response.

  • 🎨 Creative and interactive formats, including art workshops, theatrical sketches, video screenings, and recreational activities tailored to diverse community groups and age ranges.

Through these dynamic and inclusive initiatives, Amel seeks to empower communities to recognize and combat digital violence, while promoting a culture of dignity, justice, and safety for all.

💬 “Continuing these initiatives reflects our collective commitment to confronting all forms of violence, supporting survivors, and building a more secure and just society for everyone,” said a spokesperson from Amel Association.

This campaign is part of Amel’s broader rights-based approach and its ongoing efforts to promote gender justice, in alignment with its partnerships with @unfpalebanon, and @euinlebanon
