Empowering Marriages: Young Women in Bezourieh Advocate for ‘The Book of Conditions’ to Uphold Marital Rights Through Inclusive Dialogue

Share

Ever heard of ‘The Book of Conditions’? It’s a powerful tool rooted in Islamic tradition, granting women and men the right to voice their marital preferences before tying the knot.
Recognizing the importance of this right and fueled by a desire to empower others, a group of young women from Bezourieh launched an initiative under the She Leads project.
As part of their initiative, they organized a roundtable discussion titled ‘Ways to Activate the Conditions for Those About to Get Married.’
This dynamic gathering saw participation from various religious leaders, lawyers, activists, and researchers in women’s rights and marriage conditions. They shared insights, exchanged perspectives, and brainstormed strategies to mobilize actions towards activating the book’s provisions effectively.
Together, they’re paving the way for change and ensuring every woman’s voice is heard.
