The Children and Parents committees of the Child Protection Project funded by UNICEF in Kamed el Loz implemented community initiatives on Tuesday the 6th of February, 2018. The initiative took place at the end of the Child Protection Project’s cycle with the aim of protecting children from their community from violence and abuse.
The Child Protection Project is funded by UNICEF with the aim to improve the well-being and to build the resilience of children aged between 7 and 17 years old, including psycho-social support, learning by playing activities, recreational sessions, awareness sessions and parenting skills sessions.
As part of the community initiative held in Kamed el Loz, the parents’ committee worked on paving the Kamed El Loz informal tended settlement 004 in order to render the settlement safer for children and their families. Moreover, another initiative was taken by the children’s committee where they set up a playground in El Berke Park, Kamed el Loz to provide the children living in the area a child-friendly space.
