Is collective healing a matter of nationwide therapy sessions, formal reconciliation processes, or perhaps something simpler—like spending more time under the sun and in the open wind? As children of the sun, we in Lebanon face many shadows—some intentional, others unintended—that continue to challenge our country’s social stability. True healing and sustainable growth—whether from past traumas or ongoing hardships—must come from within. It begins with awareness and unfolds through consistent, collective efforts toward rebuilding trust and fostering social cohesion. Our responsibility lies in expanding collective consciousness by shining a light on social connectors—the shared interests, values, concerns, and aspirations that already exist among us. These include inclusive institutions, common goals, mutual attitudes, and everyday actions that can unite communities despite misperceptions, mistrust, fear, or political and external pressures. One path forward is to train ourselves—and each other—to recognize, nurture, and amplify these connectors. It’s about shifting our collective mindset from what divides us to what binds us together. That is the goal of this newsletter, CONNECTORS. With every edition, we aim to highlight entry points that strengthen dialogue, rebuild trust, cultivate solidarity, and contribute to the mitigation of social tensions. By mapping out these opportunities, we hope to support a more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient Lebanon.
