Speaking up about mental health is a right, not a taboo,’ say the young leaders of Ain Qenya. In an area heavily affected by ongoing conflict, GYW has launched the ‘I Will Support My Mental Health’ initiative to advocate for youth access to mental health services through these difficult times. Through community activities like yoga and mandala sessions and awareness sessions, organized in collaboration with local CSOs and psychologists, they are working to break the stigma and advocate for prioritization of mental health initiatives.
This initiative falls under the She Leads project that is implemented by Plan International Lebanon in partnership with Amel Association, which aims to empower and equip girls and young women to speak up for their rights and lead change in their communities and beyond.
