In the rural area of Shwaya, young women are advocating for economic independence and breaking stereotypes. Due to limited opportunities and male-dominated job sectors, many women struggle to find work or pursue education. Through successful advocacy with local leaders, they secured a space in the Shwaya municipality dedicated to advancing women’s skills. Watch their journey and see the newly renovated room that will serve as a safe space for women and youth.
This initiative falls under the She Leads project, which is implemented by Plan International Lebanon in partnership with Amel Association. The project aims to empower and equip girls and young women to speak up for their rights and lead change in their communities and beyond.
