Amel Association International is pleased to announce a new vacancy for the position of GBV Social Worker, based in Beirut and Mount Lebanon (BML). The selected candidate will be assigned to one of Amel’s centers and will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and Program Coordinator.
This full-time, one-year contract presents an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Amel’s protection and gender-based violence (GBV) programs, supporting some of Lebanon’s most vulnerable communities.
The GBV Social Worker will play a key role in planning and delivering psychosocial support (PSS) and awareness sessions, facilitating life skills activities, conducting community outreach, and ensuring effective referrals to case workers and psychologists. The role also includes active participation in recreational and vocational support programming.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct PSS and awareness sessions at community and health centers.

Lead life skills activities and community groups.

Ensure safe identification and referral of GBV cases.

Coordinate closely with GBV Case Workers and psychologists.

Maintain timely documentation and reporting of activities.

Represent Amel in internal and external meetings as needed.
Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, or a related field.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in similar roles.

Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

Fluency in Arabic and English.

Commitment to working with vulnerable populations while respecting confidentiality and ethical standards.
