Amel Association International successfully concluded a vocational training course on candle and plaster production at its center in Mashghara, Beqaa. The training brought together a group of young women and girls as part of the project “Provision of Life-Saving and Integrated Reproductive Health and Protection Services,” implemented in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and funded by the European Union.

This initiative aims to empower women and girls in marginalized areas by equipping them with practical skills that enhance their economic opportunities and strengthen their financial independence. Amel believes that empowering women is a cornerstone of building a more just and sustainable society.

Founded in 1979, Amel Association International is a non-sectarian, non-governmental civil organization that has held consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2001. The organization operates 40 centers across Lebanon’s most vulnerable areas, including the southern suburbs of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the Beqaa Valley, and the South, delivering healthcare, social, and educational services to local communities.

Through initiatives such as this vocational training, Amel reaffirms its commitment to supporting the most vulnerable populations and fostering inclusive and sustainable development for all.
